Following Couples Through Life: Wedding and Maternity Photography

There’s something so special about witnessing a love story unfold over the years, and Sam + Matt’s journey is one I feel so grateful to have been part of. I first met them for their engagement session in 2021, captured their beautiful wedding in 2022, and then this past October, I had the joy of photographing their maternity session during a crisp, golden hour evening. It’s truly a gift to walk alongside clients as they move into new chapters of life, and this session was full of warmth, love, and sweet anticipation.

We chose an open field for their maternity session, the perfect backdrop for a fall evening. The golden light of sunset, combined with the crisp October air, created a soft, dreamy atmosphere that made every moment feel calm, intimate, and timeless. Sam + Matt’s excitement for this next chapter was palpable, and it was such a joy to capture it.

Adding to the session’s sweetness, they brought along their beloved dog, who was such a thoughtful “big brother” during the shoot. Watching him interact with them and just be part of their family was a reminder that pets often hold such a special role in family life—and capturing these little details is always one of my favorite parts of maternity photography.

This session was particularly meaningful because it represents more than just maternity photos—it’s a continuation of a relationship I’ve built with Sam + Matt over the years. From engagement to wedding to maternity, I’ve loved documenting their milestones, and now I get to celebrate the arrival of their sweet baby earlier this year. There’s something incredibly rewarding about being invited to photograph these intimate moments and seeing the love in real life grow, evolve, and become a full family.
